Panglao Bluewater Beach Resort Breaks New Ground in Luxury

PANGLAO ISLAND, BOHOL – Bluewater Resorts’ new landmark property is a blueprint for the future, creating a luxurious escape that honors Bohol’s natural Beauty.

Nestled in an island with white-sand beaches, pristine waters and marine sanctuaries, Panglao Bluewater Beach Resort’s Filipino architecture and design complement its culture, inherent warm hospitality and eco-focused initiatives.

“There are few destinations in the Philippines where development partners environmental preservation. Our vision is to offer a resort that respects Bohol’s objectives and give an experience that one expects from a luxurious resort, including the best in Filipino hospitality coupled with world-class amenities and facilities,” said Julie Alegado-Vergara, President of Almont Hotels and Resorts Corporation. “The groundbreaking also symbolizes the start of what the future is all about for the Bluewater Brand,”she adds.

To Ms. Alegrado-Vergara, “It’s all in the details. We have spacious accommodations to handle couples on honeymoon and families on vacation. The resort is designed to cover your vacation needs. One can go into quiet seclusion, indulge in fun activities within the resort or explore the spectacular beauty of the island and sanctuaries. We put ourselves in the eyes of our guests and create a positive and memorable experience for them – from the time we say “Mabuhay” until we bid farewell.”

Famed Filipino Artist and Designer, Benji Reyes, is the resort’s designer. His challenge is to introduce a unique design concept that will match well with the environment. What he came up with is organic yet elegant, innovative and functional. According to Mr. Reyes, “There is a feel of luxurious sophistication but not stuffy. The atmosphere is kept friendly, comfortable and warm.”

The overall look is softened by the use of reclaimed and recycled wood on structures and interiors. They are sculpted to infuse charm and function. Under Mr. Reyes’ direction and crafted by artisans, the wood and other design elements promote Philippine art and ingenuity.

One of the highlights of this project is the Villa. Together with higher-end amenities, it has its own infinity dipping pool and private sun deck. “Wooden cantilevered beds are Panglao Bluewater’s signature room centerpieces. Referred to as “Floating Beds”, it gives a different level of sensation”, adds Mr. Reyes. “It’s perfect for solitary rest.”

Also, the Family Rooms and Villas are designed to address the needs of young families and junior guests. No longer do they have to squeeze into cramped rooms of typical resorts.

The Villas and Deluxe Rooms open up to an oasis lagoon-styled pools for lounging and swimming. Or, guests can opt for the beach fronting the bluewaters of the Mindanao Sea and Balicasag Island. At certain times of the day, one can enjoy the rush of waves through blowholes against age-old Mangrove varieties, all distinctly shaped and sculpted by nature.

Amuma Spa, Bluewater Resort’s own Spa, will be established to maximize relaxation. It will offer its popular and signature therapy – the Filipino Hilot. The Spa uses the finest local products to restore the guests’ vigor and spirit and well-trained staff to perform the services.

The resort plans to have six bars and restaurants. Guests can look forward to a desirable gastronomic experience that combines Asian, European and Continental flavors that complement its tropical surroundings.

The construction of Panglao Bluewater Beach Resort will begin in April, 2010 with the first phase to be operational in 2011.

Passion is what drives Bluewater Resorts. Passion is what drives their people to offer exceptional service. In building its properties, Bluewater Resorts are not about quantity but simply, doing it right.
